Special Train to Pass Through Akola, Enhancing Connectivity for Vidarbha Region
Akola, Maharashtra – In a significant move to boost rail connectivity in the Vidarbha region, the South Central Railway (SCR) has announced a special train between Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi and Bidar in Karnataka, with Akola as one of its key stops. This decision is expected to provide much-needed relief to passengers in the region, especially those traveling to and from major cities like Delhi, Hyderabad, and Bidar.
The special train, scheduled to commence its journey on Saturday, 1st March, at 7:40 AM from Hazrat Nizamuddin, will pass through Akola on Sunday, 2nd March, at 9:40 AM. From Akola, the train will proceed to other important stations in Maharashtra, including Washim, Hingoli, Purna, and Nanded, before reaching its final destination, Bidar, on Monday, 3rd March, at 4:00 AM.
The train, comprising 24 coaches, will also halt at major stations such as Vikarabad, Secunderabad, Nizamabad, Mudkhed, and Bhusawal, among others. This extensive route is expected to benefit a large number of passengers, particularly those from Vidarbha, who often face challenges in finding direct rail connectivity to northern and southern India.
The inclusion of Akola as a key stop on this route has been welcomed by local residents and travelers. “This special train will greatly ease travel for people in Akola and nearby areas. It provides a direct link to Delhi and other important cities, which is a big relief for students, professionals, and families,” said a local resident.
The South Central Railway has urged passengers to take advantage of this service and make their travel plans accordingly. Detailed schedules and booking information are available on the official Indian Railways website and at railway reservation counters.
This initiative highlights the SCR’s efforts to enhance rail connectivity in the Vidarbha region, addressing long-standing demands for better transportation options. The special train is expected to not only ease travel for passengers but also boost economic and cultural exchanges between the regions it connects.
