Shocking Sexual Assault Case in Washim: Minor Schoolgirl Attacked at Knifepoint

Washim, Vidarbha – A horrifying incident of sexual assault has come to light in Washim, where a 16-year-old schoolgirl was allegedly attacked by an accused who threatened her with a knife. The incident, which occurred in the Sawada area of Washim, has sent shockwaves across the region.

The accused, whose identity is yet to be disclosed, was captured on CCTV footage while taking the minor girl to an isolated location. The footage has now become a crucial piece of evidence in the ongoing investigation. A case has been registered at the Sawada Police Station under relevant sections of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

According to police sources, the accused had previously been involved in a similar rape case, making this his second alleged offense. The police have formed eight teams to track down the accused, who is currently absconding. “We have identified the accused and are conducting a thorough investigation based on the CCTV footage and other evidence. The accused will be arrested soon,” said a senior police official.

The survivor, a Class 10 student, was reportedly lured by the accused under false pretenses before being assaulted. The police have assured that strict action will be taken against the perpetrator. “We are working round the clock to ensure the accused is apprehended at the earliest. The survivor’s statement and the evidence collected so far are being analyzed,” the official added.

The incident has sparked outrage among locals, who are demanding swift justice for the survivor. “It is shocking that such incidents are happening in our area. The authorities must ensure the safety of women and children,” said a resident of Washim.

The police have urged the public to come forward with any information that could aid in the investigation. Meanwhile, the survivor is receiving medical and psychological support to help her cope with the trauma.

This case has once again highlighted the need for stricter enforcement of laws and better protection for minors. As the investigation progresses, the police are confident that the accused will soon be brought to justice.
